Gràcia is for travelers who enjoy returning to the same square for coffee, dinner and another drink. Around Plaça de la Vila, Plaça del Sol and the small shopping streets, the scale feels more like a town than central Eixample. Independent shops, cultural spaces and pavement cafés give you reasons to spend time here rather than simply sleep here.
- Best for
- couplesfood loversshopping
- Skip it if
- You have only a brief old-town-focused visit; You expect every square-facing room to be quiet
- Getting around
- Fontana has L3 and Joanic L4; walk around the squares and toward upper Passeig de Gràcia. BCN: L9 Sud to Zona Universitària, then L3 to Fontana.
- After dark
- Pavement cafés keep the squares sociable; August's Festa Major is a particularly poor match for anyone seeking early nights.
