9.1/10
A standout El Born base, with thoughtful design and genuinely attentive service.
Borneta is a design-led 4-star boutique hotel opposite Ciutadella Park, and a strong pick for exploring Barcelona on foot. The former K+K Picasso was comprehensively renovated in 2024; this is now a Miiro hotel with warm interiors, local artwork and inviting lounges. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, comfortable beds, excellent cleanliness and breakfast. The rooftop pool adds a welcome cooling-off stop after sightseeing.
The compromises are mostly about space: entry-level Classic rooms are compact, and the rooftop pool is for a dip rather than proper swimming. Breakfast is not included in every booking, and a terrace requires choosing the right room category. We'd choose it for a couples' city break with character and reliable service; we'd skip it if spacious standard rooms or extensive resort facilities matter most.
