Axel's take

a modern 4-star superior city hotel in Barcelona’s Eixample

9.2/10

Standout service and comfortable rooms make this an excellent Eixample base.

Olivia Balmes is a modern 4-star superior hotel that gets the city-break essentials unusually right. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, spotless rooms and comfortable beds. We'd put it high on the shortlist for exploring Barcelona: Passeig de Gràcia’s architecture and shopping are close, with restaurants and transport nearby. The rooftop pool adds a welcome sightseeing break, and breakfast earns plenty of praise.

The trade-offs are mostly about design and expectations. The pool is small rather than somewhere for serious swimming, and the open-plan bathroom layouts warrant checking before sharing with a friend. Breakfast isn't included in every booking, parking costs extra, and city tax is collected separately. We'd skip it if a traditional bathroom layout or expansive resort facilities matter more than service and location.

  • This page: Olivia Balmes Hotel rates, Barcelona. Every rate Axel has seen for Olivia Balmes Hotel in Barcelona in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Olivia Balmes Hotel for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Olivia Balmes Hotel; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Olivia Balmes Hotel. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Olivia Balmes Hotel rates, Barcelona" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/barcelona/olivia-balmes-hotel-1236933; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
