El Born makes a short stay feel full without much planning: the Picasso Museum, Santa Maria del Mar and Carrer de Montcada sit among small shops and restaurants. Farther north, Sant Pere brings the Palau de la Música Catalana and Santa Caterina market into the same walking routine. Ciutadella provides a useful change from enclosed streets.

- After dark
- Restaurant terraces and bars keep Passeig del Born sociable late; rooms above them are a poor bet for light sleepers.
