Axel's take: 9.0/10
An excellent simple base, with standout cleanliness and genuinely compact rooms. a small, no-frills hotel near Plaça d’Espanya, scored for what it is.
Hotel Brick is a small, no-frills hotel near Plaça d’Espanya that gets the essentials unusually right. Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor guests consistently praise the cleanliness, helpful reception team and comfortable beds. It’s a strong pick for travelers who spend their days exploring: the metro and airport bus are close, and Fira Montjuïc is within easy walking distance. Expect modern, functional accommodation rather than a hotel packed with facilities.
The main compromise is space. The hotel lists Economy doubles at just 10 square metres, versus 15 for standard doubles; we’d choose the latter for two people with luggage. Breakfast is available at an extra charge, and there’s no on-site parking. We’d skip it if you want room to spread out or to step straight into the old town, rather than use public transport.
-
Best for: sightseers who prioritize clean, comfortable basics; Fira Montjuïc visitors; short stays with easy airport connections
-
Watch out for: Economy doubles are only 10 square metres; old-town sightseeing usually means a transit ride; no on-site parking
-
Location: Near Plaça d’Espanya, metro links, the airport bus and Fira Montjuïc—not in the old town.
-
Rooms: Modern and functional; standard doubles offer more breathing room than the tiny Economy category.
-
Cleanliness: A particularly strong point across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor reviews.
-
Service: Guests repeatedly praise the friendly, helpful team; reception operates around the clock.
-
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, elevator, luggage storage and a buffet breakfast.
-
Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking; Expedia also lists a late-checkout charge.
