Hotels in Barcelonaa practical 4-star hotel with apartment-style options near Gràcia
8.6/10
A comfortable neighborhood base, with useful kitchens but a real weekend-noise caveat.
HG City Suites Barcelona is a practical 4-star hotel on the edge of Gràcia, strongest for travelers who want comfortable rooms and neighborhood life rather than elaborate hotel facilities. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, generous room sizes and helpful staff. We'd pick a Superior room with a kitchen for a longer stay; standard rooms don't include one. Nearby rail and metro stations make sightseeing straightforward.
The main compromise is sleep: reviews across sites describe late-night street and club noise, particularly on weekends, and some recent guests report ineffective temperature control. There’s no conventional hotel breakfast, although complimentary coffee and tea and nearby cafés help. It's a strong pick for independent city stays; we'd skip it if reliable quiet or full-service facilities are priorities.

Best for: longer stays with light self-catering; couples exploring Gràcia; independent city-break travelers
Watch out for: weekend street and nightclub noise; some reports of weak temperature control; kitchens only in selected room categories
Location: Sant Gervasi beside Gràcia, with cafés, shops and several rail or metro stations nearby.
Rooms: Standard rooms are around 22 square meters; Superior rooms add kitchens, while suite apartments have separate bedrooms.
Cleanliness: A clear strength overall, supported by high cleanliness ratings on Expedia and Booking.com.
Service: Helpful reception staff earn frequent praise, though a few recent guests describe uneven experiences.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, a lounge and self-service refreshments; no conventional breakfast service.
Fees and surprises: Parking nearby costs extra; Expedia also lists a breakage deposit and city tax payable at the property.
