Think shopping-and-driving convenience, not a city-neighborhood experience. Saint Louis Galleria and The Boulevard provide the main browsing and restaurant destinations, with more retail along Brentwood Boulevard and Eager Road. The Boulevard has a pleasant pedestrian pocket, but highway ramps, wide roads and parking lots interrupt the wider area.

It works if shopping or visits in the western suburbs matter more than downtown sightseeing. Rail is available, so a car is not essential for every outing, but checking the actual station walk is crucial. Skip it for a romantic wander, late-night bar-hopping or a first visit built around the Arch and city museums; Clayton gives you a more coherent walkable evening nearby.
