Hotels in St. Louisa modern, select-service Marriott in the walkable Central West End
8.3/10
A strong neighborhood base with comfortable rooms, but uneven service and parking extras.
This modern, select-service Marriott is a strong pick for exploring the Central West End rather than staying downtown. Restaurants and bars are an easy walk, with Forest Park nearby. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and the location; recent Expedia reviews largely reinforce that picture. We'd choose it for a straightforward city break, not a luxury hotel experience.
The main reservation is consistency: Tripadvisor and some recent Expedia guests describe indifferent front-desk service or slow responses, despite plenty of praise for helpful employees. Rooms favor minimalist furnishings over plushness. Marriott lists paid valet parking and a garage across the street; check whether breakfast is included in your booking. The lounge serves small plates rather than a full dinner menu. We'd skip it if polished service and extensive on-site dining are priorities.

Best for: couples exploring neighborhood restaurants; short business trips; travelers visiting Forest Park
Watch out for: uneven front-desk service; paid parking and breakfast extras; limited evening dining
Location: Walkable Central West End setting near restaurants, shops and Forest Park; not downtown.
Rooms: Modern, minimalist rooms with frequently praised beds; some guests find them small or sparsely furnished.
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings on Booking.com and Expedia, though a few recent guests report housekeeping misses.
Service: Generally well rated, but recurring reports of indifferent reception and slow problem handling temper confidence.
Amenities: Fitness center, breakfast kitchen and cocktail lounge with small plates; no airport shuttle.
Fees and surprises: Valet costs extra; garage parking is across the street. Confirm breakfast inclusion. Pets are not allowed.
