Hotels in Columbusa college-themed 4-star boutique hotel in the Short North
8.7/10
A strong Short North pick for character and walkability, with compact rooms and parking costs.
Graduate Columbus is a college-themed 4-star boutique hotel whose strongest selling point is the Short North location. We'd choose it for a weekend of restaurants, galleries and bars, with the convention center also within walking distance. The Buckeye memorabilia and scarlet plaid give it genuine local character rather than generic business-hotel styling. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff, with similar feedback in reviews displayed by Planet of Hotels.
The main compromises are space and extras. Several guests find the rooms small, and parking costs draw recurring complaints. Hilton confirms that hotel parking is valet-only and breakfast costs extra. Some guests mention late traffic noise, though it isn't a universal complaint. We'd skip it if you need generous room space or dependable nighttime quiet; otherwise, it's a very good neighborhood base.

Best for: couples exploring the Short North; Buckeyes fans who enjoy themed design; convention visitors who prefer a neighborhood setting
Watch out for: compact rooms in several categories; paid valet parking and breakfast; possible late-night traffic noise
Location: Walkable Short North restaurants, shops and galleries; convenient for the convention center, but not on OSU's campus.
Rooms: Distinctive Ohio State styling and frequently praised beds; room size is the clearest recurring drawback.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is strongly positive overall, with isolated housekeeping misses rather than a consistent problem.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise across recent guest feedback.
Amenities: Fitness center, free Wi-Fi, Homage Bar, lobby breakfast options and adjoining Shake Shack.
Fees and surprises: Hotel parking is paid valet-only; breakfast and pets incur additional charges.
