Axel's take

a stylish, upscale downtown hotel near the convention center

8.0/10

A strong downtown base with rooftop dining, but room temperatures can disappoint.

This is a stylish, upscale city hotel rather than a basic three-star, and we'd shortlist it for conventions or Nationwide Arena events. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the clean, modern rooms, comfortable beds and walkable location. Goodale Station's rooftop restaurant and skyline views give it more character than a straightforward business hotel. Overall guest ratings are solid, though Tripadvisor is noticeably less enthusiastic.

The main reservation is temperature control: multiple Tripadvisor and Google-sourced reviews describe rooms staying uncomfortably warm, sometimes with ineffective fixes. Service earns plenty of praise, but complaints about follow-through recur too. Hotel parking is paid valet only, and breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. It's a strong pick for an event-focused city break; we'd look elsewhere if a reliably cool bedroom is essential.

  • convention attendees
  • Nationwide Arena eventgoers

Amenities
