Causeway Bay is for travellers who enjoy stepping straight into shopping streets. Around Hennessy Road, Times Square and the streets towards Victoria Park, the routine is department stores, upstairs restaurants and another meal before heading home. The mostly flat terrain makes everyday exploring easier than in the western Island neighbourhoods, and Victoria Park provides a useful outdoor break.
- Best for
- shoppingsports fans
- Skip it if
- Crowds quickly wear you down; You want quiet evenings outside your door
- Getting around
- Island Line and trams; shopping streets and Victoria Park on foot; HKG by A11 or Airport Express to Hong Kong followed by the Island Line.
- After dark
- Think bright shopping streets and upstairs dining rather than a peaceful residential evening; quieter sleepers should choose their address carefully.
- Where to look
- Times Square–Leighton Road. Start here for shopping and late meals; the Lee Gardens side offers some relief from the busiest retail streets.Victoria Park, western edge. Choose the park side for outdoor breaks between shopping trips, without leaving Causeway Bay's commercial bustle.Canal Road–western Jaffe Road. This Wan Chai-facing stretch suits restaurant-and-tram routines; expect traffic and dense streets rather than a park-side retreat.
