Axel's take: 9.1/10

A standout Kowloon base, with excellent housekeeping and service outweighing compact rooms. an independent, art-focused 4-star boutique hotel in Jordan, scored for what it is.

Hotel Stage is an independent, art-focused 4-star boutique hotel in Jordan, and a strong pick for travelers who prioritize comfort over grand facilities. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff, comfortable beds and powerful showers. Jordan MTR is a short walk away, with plenty of local dining nearby. We'd choose it for a well-run Kowloon stay with some character rather than a big-hotel atmosphere.

The main compromise is space: standard rooms are cleverly arranged, but several guests find them tight with large luggage or children. Families should consider the separate sleeping areas in a Family Suite. Breakfast is not automatically included, and the library lounge carries an access supplement. We'd skip it if generous rooms and extensive leisure facilities matter more than location, cleanliness and attentive service.

• Best for: couples exploring Kowloon; solo and business travelers; travelers who value cleanliness and service

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms with large luggage; breakfast inclusion varies by booking; library lounge access costs extra

• Location: A few minutes' walk from Jordan MTR, with local restaurants, markets and buses nearby.

• Rooms: Bright, thoughtfully arranged rooms; beds and showers earn strong praise, but luggage space can be tight.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews, supported by high cleanliness ratings.

• Service: Repeated praise for friendly, helpful front-desk staff and responsive assistance.

• Amenities: Restaurant, 24-hour gym and art displays; the hotel says Muse Wine Bar is now integrated into Kitchen Savvy.

• Fees and surprises: A deposit is required; breakfast and library lounge access may cost extra, and accommodation tax applies.
