Axel's take: 8.7/10

Distinctive rooms and genuinely helpful staff make this a strong Hong Kong base. an upscale design-led boutique hotel between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, scored for what it is.

Mira Moon is an upscale boutique hotel between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, and a strong pick for travelers who prefer character over big-hotel facilities. Its Chinese moon-festival-inspired interiors give it personality, but the fundamentals are the real draw: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, generous bathrooms, cleanliness and helpful staff. Restaurants, shopping, trams and the ferry are within walking reach.

The trade-off is a smaller amenity offering, including a compact gym rather than extensive leisure facilities. Some Expedia guests mention room wear or noisy air-conditioning, though neither dominates the feedback. The official website also flags Daai Zaak restaurant renovations for November 16–December 17, with breakfast at nearby Wooo café; the notice omits the year, so confirm arrangements. We'd choose it for a comfortable city stay, not a full-service resort experience.

• Best for: couples who like distinctive design; shopping and dining-focused city breaks; business travelers wanting a boutique base

• Watch out for: restaurant renovation notice; confirm dates; compact gym and limited leisure facilities; occasional room-wear and air-conditioning complaints

• Location: Walkable access to Causeway Bay shopping, neighborhood restaurants, trams and Wan Chai ferry connections.

• Rooms: Guests frequently praise room and bathroom space; harbour views depend on the booked category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest feedback, supported by high Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness scores.

• Service: Warm, proactive front-desk and concierge help is the clearest recurring praise.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, in-room Nespresso machines and a compact 24-hour gym; verify current breakfast arrangements.

• Fees and surprises: Extra beds cost more; no onsite parking. The restaurant closure notice gives dates but no year.
