Hotels in St. Louisa historic, full-service 4-star in the Central West End
8.7/10
A strong pick for historic character, neighborhood exploring and unusually good amenities.
The Chase is a historic, full-service 4-star whose strongest selling points are its Central West End setting and substantial amenities. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want character rather than another interchangeable business hotel. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, clean, comfortable rooms and the walkable restaurant scene beside Forest Park. The seasonal outdoor pool, large fitness center and actual movie theater give you reasons to spend time at the hotel, too.
The trade-offs are the nightly destination fee, separately charged parking and occasional reports of dated furnishings, weak Wi-Fi or air-conditioning trouble. Those complaints don’t outweigh the broadly positive recent feedback, but they temper the upscale promise. We’d choose it for a neighborhood-based city break; we’d skip it if you want contemporary rooms, minimal extras or dependable bandwidth for important work.
