Axel's take on West Omaha & Regency: #7 of 7 in Omaha, 3.9/10
Choose Regency when your plans are west, not for an Omaha introduction. West Omaha & Regency offers the strongest hotel value, but the weakest sightseeing access, few doorstep options and modest hotel scores leave it last overall.
Regency is a practical suburban base for western Omaha appointments, visiting relatives and shopping, with Regency Court and neighboring Westroads shaping the local agenda. It offers a different rhythm from downtown: dinner, an errand or two, then back for the night rather than an evening drifting between venues. Choose it because your plans are already out west.
The main drawback is the road layout. Nearby shopping addresses do not necessarily make comfortable walking companions, and most sightseeing requires another journey. ORBT helps from Westroads, but it does not turn every Regency address into a transit-friendly stay. Skip it without a car unless your exact location works.
- Best for: a quiet stay, shopping
- Skip it if: You are sightseeing without a car; You want an atmospheric evening walking district
- Getting around: ORBT runs from Westroads Transit Center, which is not a short walk from every Regency address; expect local driving and reach OMA by taxi/rideshare or rental car.
- After dark: Treat this as a subdued dinner-and-return base rather than a nightlife district; evening street-level reporting is limited.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $81 a night

Where to look in West Omaha & Regency
- Regency Circle. Choose this shopping-and-office pocket when your plans are in Regency, not for evenings exploring downtown on foot. Hotels here: Omaha Marriott.
- West Dodge Road, 108th–112th. A practical west-side corridor for drivers visiting offices and running errands; prioritize the address closest to your appointment. Hotels here: Hampton Inn Omaha/West Dodge Road (Old Mill), TownePlace Suites by Marriott Omaha West, Super 8 Omaha/West Dodge, Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Omaha, Wyndham Omaha / West Dodge.
- Westroads Transit Center. Look toward this end for ORBT access; check the actual walk rather than assuming every nearby address works without a car. Hotels here: AmericInn by Wyndham Omaha.
How to choose
- Choose Hampton Inn Omaha/West Dodge Road (Old Mill) if cleanliness and helpful staff matter more than the lowest rate or a walkable setting.
- Choose TownePlace Suites by Marriott Omaha West if you need an equipped kitchen for a longer work or family stay.
- Choose Super 8 Omaha/West Dodge if you want a cheaper-than-most refreshed room and can manage stairs and possible road noise.
What paying more buys
Super 8/West Dodge, now Days Inn, is cheaper than most here and has refreshed rooms, but no elevator. Pricier Hampton buys stronger cleanliness feedback and an indoor pool; TownePlace adds kitchens. Omaha Marriott costs still more for full-service facilities and an indoor/outdoor pool, not newer rooms. Skip that premium without a conference or pool-focused stay. Typical rates with Axel here run from $68 a night at Wyndham Omaha / West Dodge to $154 at Omaha Marriott (last 30 days).
