Axel's take: 8.2/10

Roomy suites and helpful staff make a strong stopover, despite nearby roadworks. a practical, mid-range all-suite hotel near I-270, scored for what it is.

Comfort Suites Columbus East Broad is a practical, mid-range all-suite hotel near I-270, and a strong pick for travelers with a car. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Cleanliness is a clear strength in the broader feedback, despite some contrary reports. Free hot breakfast, parking, an indoor heated pool and in-room microwaves and refrigerators make it good value for families and work trips.

The biggest current drawback is East Broad Street construction near I-270: expect traffic delays around the approach. This is a driving base, not somewhere we'd choose for exploring Columbus on foot. Some Google guests also report noise or uneven problem handling, although those complaints aren't the dominant picture across sites. Note the mandatory refundable credit-card deposit and charges for early arrival or late departure.

• Best for: families wanting extra room; east-side business trips; travelers stopping off I-270

• Watch out for: East Broad Street construction and traffic delays; car-dependent location; mandatory credit-card security deposit

• Location: Convenient for I-270 and east-side visits; ongoing East Broad Street roadworks complicate access.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with microwaves and refrigerators; comfortable beds draw praise, with some noise complaints.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback on Expedia and Tripadvisor; negative Google reports warrant perspective rather than dismissal.

• Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, though some Google guests describe poor complaint handling.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus an indoor heated pool, fitness center and guest laundry.

• Fees and surprises: Refundable security deposit requires a major credit card; cash and prepaid cards aren't accepted. Early check-in and late checkout cost extra.
