Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong budget base with spacious suites, welcoming staff and a well-liked breakfast. a budget-friendly, all-suite roadside hotel west of Columbus, scored for what it is.

Best Western Suites is a budget-friendly, all-suite hotel off I-70 west of Columbus, and a strong pick if you're driving. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, roomy accommodation, friendly staff and a hot breakfast that delivers more than the basics. Free parking, an indoor pool and a hot tub add useful extras for families and overnight stops. We'd choose it for practical comfort and good value, rather than style.

The main compromise is location: this is a drive-to-Columbus base, not a downtown stay with sights outside the door. Some guests mention worn beds or furnishings, although recent room feedback is mostly positive. Pool and hot-tub feedback is also generally favorable, with occasional cleaning or jet complaints. Skip it if polished interiors or walkable city exploring are priorities.

• Best for: families traveling by car; I-70 overnight stops; value-minded Columbus visitors

• Watch out for: driving needed for downtown sightseeing; some reports of worn beds or furnishings; occasional pool and hot-tub maintenance complaints

• Location: Convenient for I-70 and nearby dining; downtown and campus visits require a drive.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with microwaves and refrigerators; comfort earns mostly positive feedback, with some wear reported.

• Cleanliness: Room cleanliness is a consistent strength across sites; pool-area feedback is less uniform.

• Service: Friendly front-desk staff and attentive breakfast attendants are recurring highlights.

• Amenities: Complimentary hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi, plus an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists cashless payment and possible incidental authorization; parking and breakfast are included.
