Axel's take: 7.2/10
Good for a Short North night out, less convincing for a good night’s sleep. a compact, nightlife-focused 3-star in the Short North, scored for what it is.
Moxy Columbus Short North is a compact, nightlife-focused 3-star whose strongest selling point is its walkable neighborhood. We'd consider it for a short, social weekend: restaurants and bars are close, check-in happens at the lobby bar, and games give the shared spaces some purpose. Booking.com guests rate location and staff particularly well; cleanliness is generally a stronger point than the hotel's mixed overall reputation.
The main compromise is sleep, not simply room size. Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests repeatedly describe intrusive bass from Mandrake Rooftop, including late-night disturbance. Rooms are small and deliberately pared back, while service earns both warm praise and complaints about problem handling. Parking costs extra, breakfast isn't complimentary, and Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. We'd skip it for light sleepers, early starts or longer stays needing room to spread out.
