#8 of 9 hotels in Schwabing by Axel's take. Schwabing is #7 of 9 places to stay in Munich. The best hotels in Schwabing, ranked · Where to stay in Munich

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A useful northern Munich base, but housekeeping needs more consistency. a practical 4-star business hotel in northern Schwabing, scored for what it is.

The Rilano is a practical 4-star business hotel in northern Schwabing: a good option for nearby offices and travelers happy to use public transport, rather than walk to old-town sights. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally rate it positively, with breakfast, helpful staff and comfortable rooms recurring strengths. The hotel says its single, double and standard rooms have been renovated; room categories still differ, so check what you’re booking.

The reservation is consistency. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews describe missed housekeeping and maintenance problems, despite broadly positive cleanliness ratings overall. That makes it a reasonable business base rather than a dependable four-star treat. Garage parking and breakfast cost extra unless included in your booking. We’d choose it for a practical stay in this part of Munich, but skip it for doorstep sightseeing or reliably polished service.

  • Best for: business travelers in northern Schwabing; city visitors comfortable using transit; drivers wanting garage parking

  • Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping and maintenance; not walkable to old-town sights; room categories differ

  • Location: Northern Schwabing, with nearby bus and tram connections; Alte Heide U-Bahn is roughly ten minutes away on foot.

  • Rooms: The hotel reports renovated single, double and standard rooms; sizes and layouts vary by category.

  • Cleanliness: Positive aggregate ratings, but missed cleaning recurs in recent Tripadvisor and Expedia accounts.

  • Service: Helpful staff earn praise, though complaint handling and housekeeping follow-through are uneven.

  • Amenities: Restaurant Vitello, bar, beer garden, free Wi-Fi, meeting rooms and garage EV charging.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast are extra unless included; the official website still uses the elaya name.
