Hotels in MunichA practical 4-star chain hotel in Munich’s southern suburbs
7.8/10
A comfortable suburban base with friendly staff, but sightseeing means taking the U-Bahn.
This is a practical 4-star chain hotel in Obersendling, not a luxury stay or a city-center address. It’s a good pick if you’re happy trading doorstep sightseeing for a quieter neighborhood. Recent Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful staff and the varied breakfast. Balconies and the garden add appeal, while Machtlfinger Straße’s U3 station is roughly five minutes away on foot.
The main compromise is location: allow time for the journey into central Munich rather than relying on the hotel’s optimistic travel estimates. Some guests still find parts of the property dated, so expect dependable chain comfort rather than polished four-star style. There’s a restaurant, bar, gym and sauna, but IHG explicitly confirms there is no pool. Parking and pets cost extra, and breakfast depends on your booking. We’d skip it for a short, walk-everywhere city break.
