Axel's take: 8.4/10

Comfortable, well-equipped and dependable, provided you don't need an Old Town doorstep. a full-service 4-star business hotel in quiet northern Schwabing, scored for what it is.

Munich Marriott is a full-service 4-star in northern Schwabing, and we'd pick it for comfortable rooms and useful facilities rather than sightseeing on foot. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the substantial breakfast buffet; several describe refreshed rooms. The indoor pool, sauna and gym add appeal for families and business travelers. Nordfriedhof U-Bahn is roughly six minutes away on foot, making the quieter setting a workable city base.

The compromise is location: expect a subway ride or taxi to the Old Town. Breakfast can get busy, parking costs extra, and several Tripadvisor guests report billing or refund problems, so check inclusions and card authorizations. Crucially, the hotel announces a pool-area maintenance closure for October 26–29, 2026. We'd skip it for those dates if swimming is central to your stay.

• Best for: families wanting leisure facilities; business travelers; visitors comfortable using the U-Bahn

• Watch out for: pool-area closure October 26–29, 2026; not an Old Town walking base; check breakfast inclusions and card authorizations

• Location: Quiet northern Schwabing, roughly six minutes' walk from Nordfriedhof U-Bahn.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well maintained; recent guests describe refreshed rooms.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Usually praised as helpful, though Tripadvisor includes several billing and refund disputes.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym and dining options; pool-area maintenance closure October 26–29.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; verify breakfast inclusion and in-room Wi-Fi terms for your booking.
