Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong marina base with a popular pool, but quiet nights aren't guaranteed. A mid-range marina-front hotel in downtown Cabo San Lucas, scored for what it is.

Tesoro Los Cabos is a mid-range marina-front hotel, not a beachfront resort. It’s a strong pick for exploring downtown Cabo on foot, with restaurants, boat trips and nightlife close by. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the marina views, breakfast buffet and friendly restaurant and pool staff. The elevated Skypool gives it more appeal than a basic city hotel, and cleanliness generally earns good marks.

The trade-off is noise: recent guests describe nearby bars, corridor sound and pool music, so a marina view doesn’t guarantee peaceful sleep. Rooms are generally comfortable but can feel dated, with uneven maintenance and less consistent front-desk problem handling. Check exactly what your meal plan includes and confirm transfer arrangements before arrival. We’d choose it for an active Cabo trip, but skip it for beachfront relaxation or reliably early nights.

• Best for: Travelers exploring Cabo without a car; Fishing and boat-trip visitors; Couples who enjoy downtown nightlife

• Watch out for: Bar, corridor and pool-music noise; Dated rooms and uneven maintenance; Meal-plan exclusions and transfer arrangements

• Location: Directly on the marina, walkable to downtown dining and boat departures; not beachfront.

• Rooms: Comfortable overall, with appealing marina-view options, but dated finishes and variable noise.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across sites; recent Expedia guests frequently commend housekeeping.

• Service: Restaurant and pool teams earn warm praise; front-desk problem handling is less consistent.

• Amenities: Skypool, gym, spa and restaurants; the breakfast buffet is a recurring guest favorite.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a city tourism tax payable on-site; verify meal-plan exclusions and airport transfers.
