A strong theatreland base with personable service, refreshed rooms and a closed pool.
The Waldorf Hilton is a historic upscale hotel whose strongest selling points are its theatreland location and staff, rather than cutting-edge luxury. We'd choose it for a West End weekend: Covent Garden is close, the Edwardian interiors have character, and Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful concierge team, cleanliness and comfortable beds. Several 2026 guests specifically compliment renovated rooms and the refreshed breakfast restaurant.
The main caveat is the swimming pool: management confirmed in September 2026 that it had been closed for months, despite lingering descriptions elsewhere. Some areas still draw comments about needing attention, so request a renovated room rather than assuming every category feels equally fresh. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, but service can be slow.
