Axel's take

a modern 4-star chain hotel near Paddington station

8.0/10

A practical Paddington base with welcoming staff, but room renovations complicate the choice.

Novotel London Paddington is a modern 4-star chain hotel that makes a strong base for rail-connected London trips. It’s roughly a ten-minute walk from Paddington, with restaurants and canal-side walks nearby. Recent Expedia and Accor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and cleanliness; breakfast also gets consistent approval. The indoor pool, sauna and gym give it an edge over simpler station-area hotels.

The catch is the ongoing bedroom renovation: Booking.com lists work Monday–Saturday, 9am–5pm, through mid-January 2027. Recent guests describe both refreshed rooms and older ones, so ask which you’re booking. Older-room condition and temperature control attract complaints, while family rooms can feel tight with the sofa bed open. We’d choose it for transport convenience and leisure facilities, but skip it if daytime quiet or a guaranteed updated room is essential.

Best for

  • rail-connected city breaks
  • families wanting an indoor pool
  • Paddington business trips

Watch out for

  • bedroom renovations through mid-January 2027
  • mixed refurbished and older rooms
  • limited space with sofa beds open
Location
Around ten minutes on foot from Paddington, near canal-side restaurants; taxi access can confuse drivers.
Rooms
Refreshed rooms earn praise; older rooms draw condition and temperature complaints.
Cleanliness
Predominantly positive across recent reviews, with occasional housekeeping lapses.
Service
Friendly, helpful reception and restaurant staff are a recurring strength.
Amenities
Indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, restaurant and bar; breakfast is well reviewed.
Fees and surprises
Check breakfast inclusion; pets cost extra, and scheduled bedroom works may disrupt daytime stays.

  • This page: Novotel London Paddington rates, London. Every rate Axel has seen for Novotel London Paddington in London in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Novotel London Paddington for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Novotel London Paddington; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Novotel London Paddington. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Novotel London Paddington rates, London" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/london/novotel-london-paddington-1089040; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
