#6 of 9 hotels in New Town & North Roosevelt by Axel's take. New Town & North Roosevelt is #5 of 6 places to stay in Key West. The best hotels in New Town & North Roosevelt, ranked · Where to stay in Key West

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A good suite-and-pool base, but confirm renovation plans before committing. An independent mid-range waterfront resort with hotel rooms and condo-style suites, scored for what it is.

Beachside is an independent mid-range waterfront resort, not a Marriott; that affiliation ended in March 2024. We'd pick it for a spacious suite and pool time rather than a classic beach holiday. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean accommodations, helpful staff and the heated pool. Suites with kitchens make particular sense for families, while the complimentary downtown shuttle helps offset the outlying location.

The private shoreline is better for lounging than swimming, and standard rooms don't offer the suites' space or kitchen facilities. Parking costs extra, and Expedia lists housekeeping on request for an additional charge. More importantly, September 2026 local advertising announced renovation closures for Beachside and Tavern N Town; an October Reddit guest reports a cancellation for work starting November 1, 2026. Confirm operating dates and facility access directly before booking. We'd skip it for walk-everywhere nightlife or dependable beach swimming.

Best for: Families booking kitchen-equipped suites; Pool-focused breaks; Travelers happy using a downtown shuttle
Watch out for: Renovation closure reports; confirm your dates; Shoreline unsuitable for a classic swimming-beach holiday; Parking and requested housekeeping cost extra
Location: At Key West's entrance, away from Old Town; complimentary downtown shuttle reduces the inconvenience.
Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites are the draw; standard rooms are substantially smaller and less equipped.
Cleanliness: Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback is predominantly positive about room and pool cleanliness.
Service: Helpful staff earn repeated praise; housekeeping is not automatically provided daily.
Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, marina and dining; confirm availability during planned renovations.
Fees and surprises: Paid parking and requested housekeeping; Marriott affiliation ended in 2024, and renovation closure timing needs direct confirmation.
