#4 of 9 hotels in Southernmost Point & Casa Marina by Axel's take. Southernmost Point & Casa Marina is #3 of 6 places to stay in Key West. The best hotels in Southernmost Point & Casa Marina, ranked · Where to stay in Key West

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong pick for quiet waterfront downtime, with modest rooms and a tiny beach. A simple oceanfront timeshare resort with studios and kitchen-equipped suites, scored for what it is.

Coconut Beach Resort is a simple oceanfront timeshare property, not a full-service luxury resort. We'd pick it for a quieter Key West stay with useful self-catering space and an easy walk to southern Duval Street. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and RedWeek guests repeatedly praise the peaceful setting, clean accommodations and well-kept pool. Studios have kitchenettes; larger suites have full kitchens. Included parking adds practical value.

The trade-offs matter: there's no elevator or on-site restaurant, and not every room faces the water. Confirm the exact room category and floor before booking. Several 2026 Expedia guests report seaweed buildup and unpleasant smells on the small private beach, so don't make reliable beach swimming the reason you come. We'd skip it if you need step-free access without advance arrangements, polished interiors or full hotel service.

  • Best for: Couples wanting quiet waterfront downtime; Families who like to self-cater; Travelers bringing a car

  • Watch out for: No elevator; confirm access before booking; Tiny beach affected by seaweed and odors; Ocean views are not guaranteed

  • Location: Quiet Atlantic-side setting, within walking distance of southern Duval Street and the Southernmost Point.

  • Rooms: Studios have kitchenettes and suites full kitchens; views, layouts and furniture comfort vary.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall guest feedback, with an isolated recent mildew complaint rather than a consistent pattern.

  • Service: Guests commonly praise helpful staff; reception and housekeeping are limited rather than full-service.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, hot tub, small private beach, grills and laundry; no on-site restaurant.

  • Fees and surprises: Covered self-parking is included; Expedia lists a 10 a.m. checkout and limited housekeeping.
