Hotels in Key WestA tropical 4-star waterfront resort outside Old Town
8.0/10
A strong pool-and-villa pick, with extra fees and restaurant renovations to factor in.
Parrot Key is a tropical 4-star waterfront resort outside Old Town, strongest for travelers who want spacious accommodation and pool time rather than Duval Street on their doorstep. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, roomy accommodation, leafy grounds and helpful staff. Four pools, including an adults-only option, give couples and families room to unwind; scheduled shuttles make trips downtown and to Smathers Beach easier.
The trade-offs matter: a daily resort fee, separately charged valet-only parking, and some recurring complaints about weak showers and inconsistent hot water. The Grove Kitchen & Bar is closed for renovation September 9–December 18, 2026; the hotel is substituting a food truck and mobile pool bar. We'd skip it if walk-everywhere nightlife or a full restaurant experience is essential.
