#7 of 9 hotels in Swatara by Axel's take. Swatara is #4 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Swatara, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 6.8/10

Useful kitchens and friendly staff, but uneven upkeep makes this a cautious pick. A simple, mid-range Marriott extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.

This simple Marriott extended-stay hotel makes sense for travelers who want to cook and have a car for Harrisburg and Hershey. Suites include proper refrigerators, stovetops and dishwashers, and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and comfortable rooms. It’s a practical option, rather than a consistently dependable one.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep: recent reviews across sites describe worn furniture, missed cleaning and rooms not ready or available at check-in, alongside plenty of satisfactory stays. Breakfast also gets mixed reports. More importantly, summer 2026 guests reported the indoor pool closed indefinitely, despite Marriott still advertising it; confirm reopening directly before booking. Parking carries a daily charge. We’d skip it for a pool-focused family trip or if reliable housekeeping matters more than having a kitchen.

Best for: Longer stays with self-catering; Travelers with a car
Watch out for: Reported pool closure; confirm reopening; Uneven cleaning and maintenance; Room-readiness and availability complaints
Location: A practical driving base for Harrisburg and Hershey, with dining options nearby.
Rooms: Well-equipped kitchens are useful; recurring reports flag tired furnishings and maintenance faults.
Cleanliness: Many guests find rooms clean, but recent reports of dirty common areas and missed cleaning undermine consistency.
Service: Friendly employees earn frequent praise, though check-in and room-allocation problems recur.
Amenities: Breakfast, gym and laundry are listed; summer 2026 reviews report the advertised indoor pool closed indefinitely.
Fees and surprises: Daily parking charge; pets incur both a nonrefundable stay fee and a daily cleaning fee.
