#3 of 4 hotels in Paxtonia & Linglestown Road by Axel's take. Paxtonia & Linglestown Road is #8 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Paxtonia & Linglestown Road, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 6.8/10

Useful kitchens and friendly staff, but housekeeping is too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. A budget extended-stay hotel with full kitchens just off I-81, scored for what it is.

This is a budget extended-stay hotel, not a full-service Hershey resort. Its strongest selling points are practical: full kitchens, roomy suites, free parking and easy access to I-81. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests regularly praise welcoming staff, and plenty report comfortable, clean stays. It makes sense for travelers who will cook, drive and spend several nights in the area rather than pay for extras they won't use.

The sticking point is consistency. Recent reviews on both sites repeatedly describe dirty rooms, bathroom mold, odors and maintenance problems, alongside much happier accounts. Helpful employees sometimes resolve issues, but that shouldn't substitute for a room being ready. Housekeeping is limited, and breakfast items are sold through the pantry rather than provided as a buffet. The hotel currently advertises its indoor pool as open. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness is your overriding priority.

  • Best for: Budget travelers who want to cook; Longer work stays with a car; Road-trip stopovers

  • Watch out for: Recurring housekeeping and bathroom complaints; Uneven room maintenance; Limited housekeeping; no breakfast buffet

  • Location: Convenient highway base for driving around Harrisburg and Hershey, rather than a walkable attraction-side stay.

  • Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites are useful, but guests report uneven upkeep and occasional odors.

  • Cleanliness: Many clean-stay reports, but dirty rooms and bathroom mold recur in recent reviews.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength, including when arranging room changes.

  • Amenities: IHG lists an open indoor pool, fitness center, guest laundry, Wi-Fi and an on-site pantry.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; pets incur fees and a deposit, housekeeping is limited, and pantry breakfast items cost extra.
