#4 of 5 hotels in Mechanicsburg by Axel's take. Mechanicsburg is #7 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Mechanicsburg, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Friendly staff and practical extras make this a useful stop, but rooms show their age. a no-frills budget chain hotel off Route 15, scored for what it is.

This no-frills budget Comfort Inn in Mechanicsburg is a sensible road-trip stop rather than a hotel to linger in. Easy access to Route 15 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, free parking and included hot breakfast cover the basics. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, and many describe comfortable beds and clean, spacious rooms. We'd consider it for a short stay if convenience matters more than fresh decor.

The catch is consistency: reviews across sites also mention worn furnishings, lingering odors, thin walls and occasional housekeeping misses. Breakfast gets mixed reactions. The pool is seasonal and outdoors—not an indoor, year-round family amenity. We'd skip it if you're sensitive to smells or noise, or want reliably updated rooms; otherwise, it delivers reasonable budget-hotel utility.

Best for: road-trip overnight stops; budget-minded motorists; short Mechanicsburg visits
Watch out for: dated rooms and inconsistent housekeeping; odor and thin-wall complaints; seasonal outdoor pool only
Location: Convenient for motorists off Route 15 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, rather than a downtown Harrisburg stay.
Rooms: Often described as spacious and comfortable, but wear, odors and sound transfer recur in reviews.
Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, alongside repeated complaints about bathroom cleaning and stained or dirty surfaces.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across guest-review sites.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, free parking, a gym and seasonal outdoor pool; no indoor pool.
Fees and surprises: Pets incur a nightly, per-pet charge; early check-in costs extra, and the hotel does not accept cash.
