#4 of 7 hotels in New Cumberland by Axel's take. New Cumberland is #6 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in New Cumberland, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical highway stop with friendly staff, but uneven upkeep. a no-frills 2-star highway hotel outside Harrisburg, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star in New Cumberland is a reasonable pick for a short, car-based stay near Harrisburg. Free parking and breakfast help the value, while Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. It's a useful overnight base rather than somewhere to build a vacation around.

The catch is consistency: alongside plenty of satisfied guests are complaints about housekeeping, broken room fixtures and pool-area maintenance. Guests reported renovations in May and June 2026; completion isn't confirmed. Summer reviews also mention intermittent pool closures and an out-of-service hot tub, so check both before promising the kids a swim. We'd consider it for a straightforward stopover, but skip it if dependable leisure facilities or uniformly polished upkeep matter most.

Best for: road-trip stopovers; budget-conscious visitors with a car; travelers bringing dogs
Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance; confirm pool and hot-tub availability; renovation completion unconfirmed
Location: Convenient for I-83 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike; downtown Harrisburg is a drive away.
Rooms: Comfortable beds draw praise, but some guests report broken fixtures and key-card problems.
Cleanliness: Recent praise outweighs complaints, though room and shared-area cleaning are not consistently reliable.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across booking sites.
Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, a gym and indoor pool; recent pool and hot-tub disruptions warrant checking.
Fees and surprises: The official site requires an incidental card hold; pet fees apply, and pet-friendly rooms are limited.
