#7 of 7 hotels in New Cumberland by Axel's take. New Cumberland is #6 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in New Cumberland, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 4.9/10

Convenient highway access does not outweigh recurring cleanliness and maintenance problems. a basic 2-star roadside motel off I-83, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star roadside motel in New Cumberland is convenient for drivers visiting Harrisburg, but we'd look elsewhere for a dependable overnight stop. Free parking and Wi-Fi cover useful basics, and Tripadvisor guests often praise the staff. The broader picture is weaker: Expedia and Booking.com ratings sit around five out of ten, with housekeeping and property condition particular concerns.

Recent Expedia guests repeatedly describe stained bedding, smoke smells and poorly maintained rooms, although some report clean rooms and comfortable beds. Those are failures of budget-hotel basics, not missing luxuries. Breakfast also draws cleanliness complaints. The advertised outdoor pool is seasonal; guests have reported closures, so confirm availability rather than booking around it. It may suit an undemanding highway stop, but we'd skip it for families or anyone prioritizing reliable cleanliness.

Best for: drivers needing easy I-83 access; short stopovers with modest expectations
Watch out for: recurring stained linens and smoke smells; inconsistent room maintenance; seasonal pool with reported closures
Location: Off I-83 in New Cumberland; practical for driving to Harrisburg rather than a downtown stay.
Rooms: Some comfortable beds, but recent guests repeatedly report worn furnishings and malfunctioning equipment.
Cleanliness: The main weakness: repeated reports of dirty rooms and stained bedding, despite some positive stays.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn praise, but availability and problem resolution are inconsistent.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast; gym and seasonal outdoor pool advertised, with pool closures reported.
Fees and surprises: Extended parking costs extra; pet policies conflict between Wyndham and booking sites, so confirm directly.
