#5 of 7 hotels in New Cumberland by Axel's take. New Cumberland is #6 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in New Cumberland, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 6.2/10

Convenient for a quick stop, but upkeep and cleanliness are too inconsistent. a no-frills 3-star highway hotel in New Cumberland, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 3-star near I-76 and I-83 is a practical overnight stop rather than a hotel we'd build a vacation around. Free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi help, and rooms include microwaves and mini-fridges. Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff and comfortable beds, though its overall rating is noticeably stronger than Booking.com's.

The trade-off is inconsistent housekeeping and maintenance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews describe dirty carpets, worn bathrooms and broken fixtures alongside reports of clean, satisfactory rooms. The outdoor pool is currently closed; booking sites list reopening in late May 2027 despite Wyndham still advertising it. We'd consider it for a basic road-trip stop, but skip it if dependable cleanliness or swimming matters.

Best for: road-trippers needing a short stop; budget travelers driving around Harrisburg
Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping and worn fixtures; outdoor pool closed until late May 2027; pet fees and room restrictions
Location: Convenient highway access near I-76 and I-83; a driving base rather than a downtown stay.
Rooms: Microwaves and mini-fridges are useful; guests report comfortable beds but uneven maintenance.
Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room reports coexist with recurring complaints about carpets, bathrooms and stained bedding.
Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a comparatively consistent strength.
Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking and a gym are offered; the outdoor pool is currently unavailable.
Fees and surprises: Pets cost extra and require designated rooms; confirm restrictions and pool reopening directly.
