#3 of 6 hotels in Harrisburg North by Axel's take. Harrisburg North is #5 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Harrisburg North, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A fun couples’ escape if private hot tubs matter more than polished rooms. a budget, adults-only romantic inn with motel-style suites, scored for what it is.

Inn of the Dove is a budget, adults-only romantic inn, not the luxury retreat its branding suggests. Its appeal is straightforward: spacious, exterior-entry suites, playful themed décor and private jetted tubs in most rooms. Two specific suites add private indoor pools. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the room size, privacy and friendly staff. For couples after a short, stay-in getaway, it’s a good pick with realistic expectations.

The catch is uneven upkeep. Recent guests describe worn furniture, chipped paint and tired showers; bathroom cleaning also draws repeated criticism, although many others report clean rooms. Booking.com and Expedia’s overall ratings remain positive, while Tripadvisor’s is substantially weaker. We’d skip it for a polished anniversary splurge or if bathroom condition is a deal-breaker. Confirm your exact suite’s amenities: pools aren’t communal, and fireplaces are seasonal.

Best for: couples seeking a private hot tub; fans of playful themed rooms; short, stay-in romantic breaks
Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven bathroom upkeep; private pools only in two suite types; seasonal fireplaces
Location: A drive-based Harrisburg location rather than a walkable Hershey resort stay.
Rooms: Spacious exterior-entry suites; décor and furniture can feel dated.
Cleanliness: Many clean-room reports, but shower cleaning is a recurring weak point.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn consistent praise across recent reviews.
Amenities: Most suites have jetted tubs; two have private heated pools; fireplaces are seasonal.
Fees and surprises: Free parking; reservation holds and possible security deposits; themed and pool suites have stricter cancellation terms.
