#2 of 6 hotels in Harrisburg North by Axel's take. Harrisburg North is #5 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Harrisburg North, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.9/10

Friendly service and useful extras, but request a room away from I-81. a straightforward, limited-service chain hotel off I-81, scored for what it is.

This is a straightforward, limited-service Hampton off I-81, better suited to a driving stopover than a downtown stay. We'd pick it for the generally clean, comfortable rooms, included hot breakfast and welcoming staff. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the service, including helpful responses when something goes wrong. The indoor pool and fitness room add useful extras for families and overnight travelers.

The main catch is highway noise: guests across both sites describe disturbed sleep in interstate-facing rooms, so request the opposite side. Reports of stained carpets, tired bathroom fittings and small televisions also suggest uneven upkeep rather than consistently refreshed rooms. We'd skip it for a quiet getaway or a car-free city visit. Confirm parking before arrival: Hilton calls it complimentary, while Expedia lists a charge.

  • Best for: road-trip stopovers; families traveling by car; short business stays

  • Watch out for: I-81 noise in highway-facing rooms; uneven room upkeep; conflicting parking-fee information

  • Location: Off I-81, roughly four miles from downtown; best approached with a car.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and spacious rooms earn praise, but dated fittings and highway noise recur.

  • Cleanliness: Generally praised, with some recent reports of dusty rooms and stained carpets.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are the most consistent strength across recent reviews.

  • Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, indoor pool and fitness center; breakfast feedback varies.

  • Fees and surprises: Pets incur a nonrefundable fee; confirm parking because Hilton and Expedia disagree about charges.
