#3 of 7 hotels in New Cumberland by Axel's take. New Cumberland is #6 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in New Cumberland, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.6/10

A practical overnight stop, with friendly staff but uneven housekeeping and highway noise. A simple mid-range chain hotel beside I-83 and I-76, scored for what it is.

This simple mid-range Fairfield in New Cumberland makes most sense as a road-trip stop or a base for exploring central Pennsylvania by car. We'd pick it for straightforward comfort rather than atmosphere. Expedia guests repeatedly praise the friendly staff, and overall ratings remain solid. Included hot breakfast and an indoor pool add useful value for a short stay.

The main compromises are highway noise and inconsistent housekeeping. Recent Tripadvisor guests report poorly cleaned bathrooms and missed servicing, although many Expedia guests describe clean, well-maintained rooms. Several 2026 Expedia reviews also say the whirlpool was lukewarm, so don't choose it specifically for a hot soak. Ask for a room away from the interstate and confirm parking terms: Marriott advertises free parking, while Expedia lists a charge. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or a car-free Harrisburg visit.

Best for: Road-trip overnight stops; Business travelers with a car; Short regional sightseeing stays
Watch out for: Highway noise in exposed rooms; Uneven bathroom cleaning and housekeeping; Repeated reports of a lukewarm whirlpool
Location: Convenient interstate access in New Cumberland; better for driving than a downtown-focused stay.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, straightforward rooms; request one away from the highway.
Cleanliness: Positive overall ratings, but recent bathroom-cleaning and missed-service complaints warrant attention.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength in recent Expedia reviews.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast, indoor pool, whirlpool and gym; recent guests question whirlpool temperature.
Fees and surprises: Parking policies conflict across sites; confirm before arrival. Pet fees apply; Marriott schedules housekeeping every other day.
