Axel's take: 6.1/10

Useful budget basics, but room condition and housekeeping remain too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. a budget, exterior-corridor motel on US-41, scored for what it is.

This is a budget, exterior-corridor motel, now operating as Baymont rather than La Quinta. Free parking, breakfast, Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool make it practical for a short, car-based stay. Recent Expedia guests often praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms; a June 2026 Tripadvisor guest also describes an updated room. We'd consider it for a basic overnight, not a hotel-centered vacation.

The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews also describe worn bathrooms, dirty bedding and uneven housekeeping, with some guests reporting musty smells or pests. The overall ratings remain middling, despite encouraging recent reports. Breakfast gets mixed marks, and upstairs rooms require stairs because there is no elevator. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness or step-free access is essential; otherwise, inspect the room promptly rather than assuming every room matches the better reviews.

• Best for: budget travelers with a car; short, practical overnight stays

• Watch out for: uneven cleanliness and room condition; no elevator to upstairs rooms; mixed breakfast reports

• Location: US-41 location near restaurants and shopping; better suited to driving than a beach-focused stay.

• Rooms: Exterior entrances, microwaves and mini-fridges; reports range from updated and comfortable to worn.

• Cleanliness: Many recent guests report clean rooms, but dirty bedding, odors and pest complaints remain a concern.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, although some guests report poor problem handling.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, free breakfast and Wi-Fi, guest laundry and free parking; no indoor pool confirmed.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a per-stay deposit; pets incur a nightly fee, and upper floors have stairs only.
