Axel's take: 9.1/10

A standout beachfront Best Western, provided you want simplicity rather than full resort service. A renovated, limited-service beachfront hotel with kitchenettes, scored for what it is.

This renovated, limited-service beachfront hotel is a strong pick for an easy Fort Myers Beach vacation. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise clean rooms, helpful staff and Gulf views, while kitchenettes make longer stays practical. Its quieter north-end setting puts sand outside your door and restaurants within walking distance. Included hot breakfast, free parking and no resort fee strengthen the value; Expedia lists a 2025 remodel.

The catch is the word “resort”: think heated outdoor pool and beach access, not restaurants, a spa or organized entertainment. Guests mention elevator waits, and some two-bed rooms have doubles rather than queens. Beach chairs and umbrellas cost extra. We'd skip it for a full-service resort holiday, but choose it confidently for a straightforward beach stay.

• Best for: Families who want kitchenettes; Couples prioritizing beach views; Travelers who prefer walking to dinner

• Watch out for: Limited-service hotel, not a full resort; Elevator waits at busy times; Beach chairs and umbrellas cost extra

• Location: Directly on the quieter north-end beach, within walking distance of Times Square dining.

• Rooms: Renovated rooms with kitchenettes; check bed sizes, since several categories have doubles.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews.

• Service: Recent feedback is overwhelmingly warm, with repeated praise for front-desk and breakfast staff.

• Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, included hot breakfast and beach access; no full-service resort facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Free parking and no resort fee; beach equipment is extra, and earlier guests reported nearby rebuilding.
