Axel's take: 7.6/10

Worth choosing for the river views, provided you can accept some dated edges. a simple 3-star riverfront hotel with exterior-access rooms, scored for what it is.

This simple 3-star riverfront hotel in North Fort Myers is a good pick if balcony time matters more than polished interiors. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the spacious rooms and water views, while recent Expedia reviews are especially positive about friendly staff and clean rooms. Free parking, included breakfast and a heated outdoor pool make it a practical base for travelers with a car.

The trade-off is an older property with exterior-access rooms: dated bathrooms and maintenance niggles recur, although many guests still find it comfortable and good value. Breakfast gets mixed feedback, and some guests mention traffic noise near the bridge. Book an explicitly river-view room rather than assuming every balcony has an unobstructed outlook. We'd skip it for a polished resort stay or a beach-centered vacation.

• Best for: value-minded couples who want river views; travelers exploring by car; short stays near downtown Fort Myers

• Watch out for: dated bathrooms and uneven maintenance; some traffic noise near the bridge; room views vary by category

• Location: On the Caloosahatchee River's north bank, across the bridge from downtown; a car is useful.

• Rooms: Spacious, with balconies and exterior access; choose the view category carefully.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews lean positive, but occasional housekeeping lapses mean consistency is not perfect.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across several review sites.

• Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, gym, free Wi-Fi, included breakfast and two on-site restaurants.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; an incidental deposit applies, and designated pet-friendly rooms carry an extra charge.
