Axel's take on Parque 93 & Chico: #5 of 9 in Bogota, 6.8/10
An easy northern base, with park-side dinners instead of all-night clubbing. Excellent hotels and appealing residential character compensate for weaker sightseeing access, fewer doorstep attractions and modest value.
Parque 93 gives northern Bogotá a useful outdoor living room: trees, terraces, cafés and restaurants around Calles 93A and 93B. Chicó's neighboring streets feel more residential and businesslike than Zona T. This is our strongest choice for travelers who want a comfortable landing, straightforward dinner plans and a neighborhood that works for couples and children alike.
The catch is transport, not a lack of evening options. The historic center is a separate outing, and the park is not immediately beside a TransMilenio trunk station. Recent travelers favor the area but also report substantial rush-hour delays elsewhere in the city. Stay here for everyday ease; skip it if avoiding road journeys is your overriding priority.
- Best for: first-time visitors, families, couples, luxury travelers
- Skip it if: You want museums outside your door; You need immediate trunk-bus access
- Getting around: Local buses serve Carreras 11 and 15; Virrey TransMilenio is farther west, not beside the park. Walk locally; from BOG use a taxi or M86 on Carrera Séptima followed by a westward walk or ride.
- After dark: Terraces and cocktail bars keep the park sociable, generally with a dinner-and-drinks atmosphere rather than Zona T's club intensity.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $90 a night

Where to look in Parque 93 & Chico
- Parque 93, Carrera 11 edge. Start by the park for terrace meals, cafés and sociable evenings with less club intensity than Zona T. Hotels here: The Click Clack Hotel Bogota.
- Calle 93B, Carreras 18–19. Look west of the park for a business-oriented base that still keeps its restaurant terraces within walking reach. Hotels here: Casa Dann Carlton Hotel & Spa, Four Points by Sheraton Bogota.
- Calle 100, Carreras 15–19. Choose the office corridor for northern business appointments rather than making park-side dinners the center of your stay. Hotels here: Hotel Estelar Calle 100, Bogota Plaza Hotel, Hotel Andes Plaza, Cosmos 100 Hotel & Centro de Convenciones, Hotel Dann Carlton Bogota.
How to choose
- Choose Hotel Estelar Calle 100 if northern business appointments, generous rooms and attentive staff matter more than immediate park access.
- Choose Casa Dann Carlton Hotel & Spa if you want spacious family rooms plus an indoor pool and spa, and will reserve wet-area access.
- Choose Hotel Casa La Riviera if the lowest rate matters and you can manage stairs, dated rooms and patchy bedroom Wi-Fi.
What paying more buys
Hotel Casa La Riviera offers inexpensive basics but no elevator. Casa Dann Carlton costs more for spacious rooms, an indoor pool and spa; pricier Click Clack buys design, dining and a rooftop bar, not guaranteed quiet or larger entry rooms. Skip those premiums if northern appointments will keep you out all day. Typical rates with Axel here run from $35 a night at Hotel Casa La Riviera to $150 at The Click Clack Hotel Bogota (last 30 days).
