Axel's take: 8.9/10

Excellent staff and comfortable rooms make this a strong northern Bogotá base, despite roadworks. a practical mid-range business hotel in northern Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Estelar Calle 100 is a practical mid-range business hotel that gets the important things right. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds; breakfast also earns plenty of positive mentions. We'd choose it for work trips or visits centered on northern Bogotá rather than for luxury or resort-style facilities. The hotel's gym, coworking area and Fiola Trattoria round out a useful package.

The main drawback is getting around. Calle 100's TransMilenio construction and nearby bridge works complicate approaches, and several guests describe awkward vehicle access. Ask the hotel for current arrival directions. La Candelaria also means a cross-city journey, so we'd skip it for a short trip focused on the historic center. Breakfast variety gets occasional criticism, but the broader feedback remains strongly positive.

• Best for: business travelers in northern Bogotá; couples prioritizing comfort and service; longer stays near northern offices

• Watch out for: Calle 100 roadworks and awkward vehicle access; cross-city trips to La Candelaria; occasional complaints about breakfast variety

• Location: Useful for northern business districts; less convenient for sightseeing in the historic center.

• Rooms: Comfortable, generously sized rooms with workspaces; guests generally report good upkeep.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, attentive reception and restaurant staff are the clearest recurring highlight.

• Amenities: Gym, terrace, coworking area, free Wi-Fi and Fiola Trattoria; parking is listed as complimentary.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and pets cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and current roadwork access before arrival.
