Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong pick for spacious rooms and spa time, despite some dated finishes. a large, traditional upscale hotel and spa in northern Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Casa Dann Carlton is a large, traditional upscale hotel in northern Bogotá, strongest on comfort, facilities and value rather than cutting-edge luxury. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. Breakfast is another recurring strength, while the indoor pool, sauna and steam room give it more appeal than a straightforward business hotel. Restaurants around Parque de la 93 are within walking distance.

The main compromise is condition: recent guests describe some dated rooms, and Tripadvisor reviews flag maintenance details that fall short of polished luxury. Plan spa time rather than assuming unrestricted access: the hotel requires advance reservations and lists a first-Monday monthly closure. We'd choose it for a comfortable, full-service stay; skip it if freshly renovated interiors are your priority.

• Best for: business travelers in northern Bogotá; couples wanting spa facilities; families needing spacious rooms

• Watch out for: some dated rooms and maintenance issues; advance reservations for pool and wet areas; spa closed the first Monday each month

• Location: Northern Bogotá base within walking distance of Parque de la 93 and restaurants.

• Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, but recent reviews suggest uneven upkeep and dated finishes.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Generally warm and helpful; occasional breakfast-service delays appear in reviews.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, spa, sauna, steam room, gym and two restaurants; wet-area reservations required.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and self-parking included; airport transfers and early or late checkout cost extra.
