Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong practical pick for beach access, clean rooms and included basics. a simple, limited-service chain hotel near the beach and Destin Commons, scored for what it is.

This is a simple, limited-service chain hotel, not a beachfront resort, and we'd pick it for an easy Destin stay without resort extras. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful staff and the short walk to the beach. Shopping and restaurants are convenient, too. IHG says the property has had a major refresh; included breakfast, free parking and an outdoor pool strengthen the value.

The main compromise is breakfast execution: recent guests across both booking sites mention crowding, slow replenishment or equipment problems, despite plenty of praise for the food. A few also flag noise, so light sleepers should request a room away from breakfast operations. We'd skip it if direct beachfront access or full-service dining matters more than a convenient, straightforward base.

• Best for: value-minded beachgoers; families wanting included breakfast; couples combining beach time and shopping

• Watch out for: not directly on the beach; breakfast crowding and inconsistent replenishment; some reports of room noise

• Location: A short walk to beach access, with Destin Commons and restaurants nearby.

• Rooms: Guests generally praise space and comfortable beds; IHG advertises a refresh.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Booking.com and Expedia reviews.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff earn repeated praise; breakfast service is less consistent.

• Amenities: Free breakfast and Wi-Fi, outdoor pool, fitness center and guest laundry; no on-site restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: IHG confirms free self-parking; no local or airport shuttle, and pets are not accepted.
