#6 of 6 hotels in Sandestin by Axel's take. Sandestin is #5 of 5 places to stay in Destin. The best hotels in Sandestin, ranked · Where to stay in Destin

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong family pick for space and resort access, not beachfront polish. A simple 3-star bayside timeshare condo resort, scored for what it is.

Bay Club of Sandestin is a simple 3-star timeshare condo resort on the bay, not the Gulf beach. We'd pick it for a practical family holiday: one- and two-bedroom options, kitchens, bay views and access to Sandestin's activities make it more useful than a standard hotel room. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean accommodation and helpful staff, while RedWeek reviewers highlight the convenient resort shuttle. Three outdoor pools and complimentary laundry add to the appeal.

The main compromise is age: dated kitchens, appliances and bathrooms recur in guest feedback, even when guests find everything comfortable and maintained. Beach days require a shuttle ride or drive, and reception isn't staffed around the clock, so arrange late arrivals beforehand. We'd skip it if fresh interiors, full hotel service or stepping straight onto the sand are priorities.

Best for: Families wanting kitchen-equipped condos; Golfers exploring Sandestin; Longer, self-catering stays
Watch out for: Bayside, not beachfront; Dated interiors and appliances; Limited front-desk hours
Location: On Choctawhatchee Bay within Sandestin; year-round shuttle serves the beach and Baytowne Wharf.
Rooms: Studios and larger condos; one-bedroom units have full kitchens, separate living space and a balcony or patio.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive; occasional lapses do not outweigh the broader clean-room consensus.
Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, but late check-in needs advance coordination.
Amenities: Three outdoor pools, one heated, plus a gym, complimentary shared laundry and resort recreation.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; beach towels aren't supplied, beach chairs cost extra, and checkout is before 10 AM.
