Axel's take: 8.6/10

A dependable Sandestin base for clean rooms and nearby dining, rather than beachfront lounging. a renovated 3-star chain hotel near Grand Boulevard shops, not on the beach, scored for what it is.

This renovated 3-star Courtyard is a strong pick if you want a comfortable Sandestin base without needing a beachfront resort. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean rooms, welcoming staff and convenient access to Grand Boulevard’s shops and restaurants. Free parking helps, and the outdoor pool, whirlpool and gym give it enough substance for a short vacation as well as a work trip.

The main compromise is beach access: plan to drive rather than step onto the sand. Breakfast costs extra, and Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. Some Tripadvisor guests report cramped room layouts or slow elevators, though recent feedback remains overwhelmingly positive. A July 2026 guest also reported restaurant construction next door; check its status before booking. We'd skip it for a car-free beach holiday or resort-style service.

  • Best for: couples exploring with a car; business travelers; short shopping-and-beach breaks

  • Watch out for: not beachfront; plan to drive to the beach; breakfast extra; housekeeping every other day; next-door restaurant construction reported in July 2026

  • Location: Walkable access to Grand Boulevard dining and shopping; beaches require a separate trip.

  • Rooms: Renovated décor and generally comfortable beds; some guests find layouts tight.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and recent Expedia reviews.

  • Service: Staff earn frequent praise for friendliness and helpfulness.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, whirlpool, gym and Bistro; no room service or indoor pool listed by Marriott.

  • Fees and surprises: On-site parking is free; breakfast is extra; confirm the status of neighboring construction.
