A good beach-first pick, with friendly staff but uneven upkeep. a casual 3-star beachfront hotel on Okaloosa Island, scored for what it is.

This casual 3-star sits directly on Okaloosa Island’s beach in Fort Walton Beach, not Destin proper. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prioritize sand, pools and walkable restaurants over polished interiors. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the beachfront setting, friendly staff and generally clean rooms. Two outdoor pools, a hot tub and on-site dining make an easy family beach break, and a Gulf-view balcony is worth prioritizing.

The trade-off is an aging property: Marriott advertises refreshed accommodations, but 2026 guests still describe dated areas and exterior upkeep needing attention. Room categories matter; don’t assume every room faces the water. Expect a nightly destination fee, a deposit and breakfast charges unless included. Nearby Brooks Bridge replacement construction can complicate driving. We’d skip it if you want uniformly fresh surroundings or a base in central Destin.

• Best for: families planning beach-and-pool days; couples wanting a Gulf-view balcony; travelers prioritizing walkable beach restaurants

• Watch out for: aging common areas and uneven upkeep; destination fee and breakfast extras; Brooks Bridge construction traffic

• Location: Direct beachfront on Okaloosa Island, near the pier and Boardwalk; outside Destin proper.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable; views and layouts vary, so book a Gulf-view category explicitly.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, with some criticism of exterior common-area cleaning.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Amenities: Two outdoor pools, hot tub, gym and dining; some outdoor food-and-drink service is seasonal.

• Fees and surprises: Destination fee, deposit and breakfast extras apply; confirm parking directly rather than trusting the catalog’s free-parking claim.
