#1 of 9 hotels in Broadmoor & Cheyenne Mountain by Axel's take. Broadmoor & Cheyenne Mountain is #4 of 7 places to stay in Colorado Springs. The best hotels in Broadmoor & Cheyenne Mountain, ranked · Where to stay in Colorado Springs

Axel's take: 9.1/10

Old-school luxury that largely earns its reputation, with plenty of extras to budget for. a historic five-star destination resort at the foot of the Rockies, scored for what it is.

The Broadmoor is a historic five-star destination resort, and a strong pick if you want the hotel itself to be the holiday. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the immaculate grounds, spacious rooms and attentive staff; Booking.com ratings reinforce the strong cleanliness and comfort record. Golf, a substantial spa, pools and varied dining give families and couples plenty of reasons to stay on property. Its traditional grandeur is the appeal, rather than contemporary design.

The main drawback is the accumulation of extras: a daily resort charge, paid parking and expensive dining feature prominently in guest feedback. Some Tripadvisor guests find rooms dated, although comfort wins much broader praise. The Lake Terrace outdoor pool is seasonal; other pools operate year-round. We'd skip it for a minimalist city break or if resort spending would make every meal feel like a calculation.

Best for: families wanting a full-service resort; golf and spa getaways; couples who enjoy traditional luxury
Watch out for: daily resort charge and paid parking; expensive on-property dining; seasonal Lake Terrace outdoor pool
Location: Scenic lakeside grounds beneath the mountains; better for a resort stay than downtown exploration.
Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, with traditional decor that some guests consider dated.
Cleanliness: A standout across review sites, with particularly strong praise for rooms and grounds.
Service: Warm, attentive staff earn consistent praise, despite occasional coordination lapses.
Amenities: Golf, spa, bowling and extensive dining; year-round pools supplement seasonal outdoor swimming.
Fees and surprises: Daily resort charge and separate parking fees; standard room rates do not include meals.
