#3 of 4 hotels in Manitou Springs by Axel's take. Manitou Springs is #3 of 7 places to stay in Colorado Springs. The best hotels in Manitou Springs, ranked · Where to stay in Colorado Springs

Axel's take: 8.3/10

Victorian character and standout staff, but ongoing renovations compromise the polish. a historic, upscale Victorian boutique hotel in downtown Manitou Springs, scored for what it is.

This historic, upscale Victorian hotel is a strong pick for couples who want character and walkable Manitou Springs rather than a modern resort. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, comfortable rooms and central location. Individually decorated suites offer extras such as fireplaces, spa tubs or steam showers; standard studios are simpler, so choose your room carefully.

The catch is substantial renovation work: Expedia lists the dining venues, exterior, reception, hallways and lobby as affected through June 1, 2027, subject to change. Recent guests range from barely inconvenienced to disturbed by noise, and September feedback describes dining relocated to the bar. Tripadvisor also flags worn furnishings and carpets. Breakfast and valet parking cost extra. We'd skip it for a disruption-free luxury escape; otherwise, the hospitality and location remain persuasive.

  • Best for: couples who enjoy historic hotels; exploring downtown Manitou Springs on foot; travelers seeking distinctive suites

  • Watch out for: major renovations scheduled through June 2027; room features and condition vary; breakfast and valet parking cost extra

  • Location: Central Manitou Springs, with shops and restaurants readily walkable—not downtown Colorado Springs.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, individually decorated rooms; studios are smaller and simpler than suites, and some furnishings show wear.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness ratings, despite some recent reports of stained carpets and upholstery.

  • Service: Friendly, responsive staff are the clearest recurring strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Dining, a bar, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; suite bathroom extras vary, and renovations affect dining arrangements.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast and valet parking carry charges; confirm construction impacts and your specific room's features before booking.
