#4 of 9 hotels in Air Force Academy & Interquest by Axel's take. Air Force Academy & Interquest is #6 of 7 places to stay in Colorado Springs. The best hotels in Air Force Academy & Interquest, ranked · Where to stay in Colorado Springs

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong family water-park getaway, but the extras quickly add up. A mid-range family water-park resort with all-suite accommodation, scored for what it is.

Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs is a mid-range family water-park resort, not a luxury retreat. It's a strong pick when slides and keeping the kids entertained are the whole point. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful employees and family fun, while spacious, generally clean suites make the overnight part practical. Water-park admission for registered guests and daily activities such as story time are included, giving families plenty to do without leaving the building.

The catch is that this isn't an all-inclusive escape. Parking, many dry-land attractions and meals add to the bill, and guests repeatedly question food value. Busy periods bring crowding and waits, with recent Tripadvisor reports also flagging slow elevators. We'd choose it for a short, activity-focused family break; skip it for a quiet couples' stay or if you won't use the water park much.

  • Best for: Families with water-slide-loving children; Short, activity-focused getaways; Year-round indoor water fun

  • Watch out for: Paid parking and extra-cost attractions; Crowds and elevator waits at busy times; On-site food value

  • Location: In Northgate near the Air Force Academy, rather than downtown Colorado Springs.

  • Rooms: Family-sized suites draw praise for space; mini-fridges and coffee makers come standard.

  • Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is predominantly positive; occasional complaints don't establish a widespread problem.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise, though complaint handling gets mixed feedback.

  • Amenities: Indoor water park, family events and paid attractions are the draw; the hotel confirms no fitness center.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra, many attractions are separately charged, and check-in includes a card authorization.
