#6 of 9 hotels in Garden of the Gods by Axel's take. Garden of the Gods is #5 of 7 places to stay in Colorado Springs. The best hotels in Garden of the Gods, ranked · Where to stay in Colorado Springs

Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical kitchen-equipped base, with friendly staff but limited hotel-style service. A no-frills 2-star extended-stay hotel with in-room kitchens, scored for what it is.

This budget extended-stay hotel makes most sense if you want to cook, do laundry and keep things simple. Kitchens with full-size refrigerators, free parking and useful interstate access make it a practical base for longer visits. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff and clean rooms; Agoda guests also describe good value for basic accommodation. We'd shortlist it for a self-sufficient stay rather than a treat-yourself getaway.

The trade-off is limited service: breakfast is packaged grab-and-go food, some room supplies require a trip to reception, and the hotel's included long-stay cleaning runs every two weeks. Feedback also includes dated rooms, occasional cleanliness lapses and smoke odors despite the nonsmoking policy. We'd skip it if daily housekeeping, a substantial breakfast or consistently fresh-feeling rooms matter more than having a kitchen.

  • Best for: Self-sufficient longer-stay guests; Budget travelers who cook; Road-trippers with pets

  • Watch out for: Very basic grab-and-go breakfast; Infrequent included housekeeping; Some dated rooms and smoke-odor reports

  • Location: Practical northwest Colorado Springs base near the interstate; better suited to drivers than downtown sightseeing on foot.

  • Rooms: Simple studios with full-size refrigerators, stovetops and microwaves; condition varies and some supplies are available at reception.

  • Cleanliness: Recent praise outweighs complaints, but cleanliness lapses and unwanted odors prevent a consistently dependable verdict.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though maintenance and housekeeping follow-through receive some criticism.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking, guest laundry and basic breakfast; the official amenities list does not advertise a pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Pets and extra housekeeping carry charges; included full cleaning for longer stays is every two weeks, not daily.
